While you are preparing for the muster and the parade down Main Street, picking your spots and putting up your canopies, please be advised that the town of Deep River has requested that you do not stake down canopies on the town green due to the new irrigation system. So please don't drive stakes into the ground to secure your canopy. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

DONT FORGET THESE IMPORTANT CHANGES! 

After countless hours of discussion and much debate the Deep River Ancient Muster Committee has voted not to have a beer tent this year. 

This decision did not come to us easily. We spent hours strategically planning and weighing all the options available to us to make the beer tent happen. In the end the goal of having a beer tent was unachievable. 

This year the public will be permitted to bring in their own alcoholic beverages. There is a strict no glass bottles on the field policy set forth by the town of Deep River. We will reserve the right to inspect coolers.

As members of the Fife & Drum community we ask that you also adhere to the no glass policy on the field. Please make sure when you come onto the field your drinks are not in any sort of glass container. 

We understand that everyone enjoys hanging around the beer tent and catching up with friends and family, we are considering setting up a tent with tables and chairs so the comradery can carry on.

DRAM Guidelines &  Information

***NEW THIS YEAR***

Early Camping will be offered Thursday, July 18th from 5:00pm to 8:00pm ($10 per tent/camper per person) you must register at the field house Thursday night. No admittance between 9pm Thursday to 9am Friday. No cars may be parked in the camping area, you may unload and then immediately move your vehicle to the inside field (DRAM STAFF PARKING). ALL campers vehiles must be moved by 10 AM Friday for DRAM STAFF.  No open flames, holes, or dogs are permitted. Camping is limited to muster participants and their families only. 

THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO JAMMING THURSDAY NIGHT ON THE MUSTER FIELD. THERE IS A 10 PM NOISE CUT OFF THURSDAY DUE TO TOWN ORDINANCES! 

Camping rules and regulations:

Quiet Time: There is a MIDNIGHT noise cut-off Friday and Saturday

Individual Camping:

1. Regular camping begins begins at 9:00 a.m. on Friday July 19th. The camping area must be cleaned and cleared by NOON on Sunday. 

2. Camping wrist bands will be issued at the camping sign in gate (or at the Field House). Individuals under 18 years old must be signed in by a parent or chaperone that will be present and responsible for the minor for the weekend. You must have a camping wrist band to go in and out of the camping area. If you are not camping, but would like to visit the camping area, you must get a wrist band. We use wrist bands to identity those who belong (as opposed to some who don’t belong and have been known to steal from us!)

3. Parking is not allowed in the camping area for safety reasons. For those who are camping, there is weekend parking available behind the Deep River Historical Society for donation of $20. https://deepriverancientmuster.com/parking-for-camping. There is parking available at the end of the road next to the camping area.  Temporary parking is allowed in the camping area for unloading and loading purposed only. Vehicles parked in or obstructing the “Fire Lanes” at any time will be towed at the owner’s expense. Please do not block access for port –a-potties service vehicles.

4. Black Gun Powder: the storage area must be marked with a streamer (provided at camping

registration gate or field house). This requirement is set by the Fire Marshall for safety reasons;

Please comply.

5. DO NOT dig pits/holes for any purpose. Open fires are NOT permitted. Charcoal grills may be used but coals are not to be emptied on the ground.

6. Trash bags are issued at the camping registration gate of Field House. Please clean your area and dispose of all trash in the dumpster prior to leaving.

7. Canopies located in the camping area are limited to 10’ x 20’. One canopy per Corps. Please safeguard your belongings during the parade and after dark. Please inform a member of the DRAM Committee or member of the Deep River Drum Corps if you notice anyone not affiliated with any drum corps in the camping area.

Muster Field:

Canopies: Do not set canopies up before 9:00 a.m. on Friday; canopies set up earlier than the designated time are subject to removal until after the DRAM.

1. Corps’ canopies are allowed to be set up on the 1st base side of the field ONLY! 

2. One canopy per Corps, with a maximum overall size of 15’ x 15’, larger sizes require special approval by Field Manager, by emailing drancientmuster@gmail.com

3. Please abut your canopy to the next canopy. Guide ropes cannot extend into the walkways. We all need to be conscious of safety and space is precious!

4. Rental canopies must be pre-approved with the DRAM Field Manager, by emailing drancientmuster@gmail.com. A cognizant member of your Corps must be present when the rental company erects the canopy.

5. Dogs are NOT allowed on the Muster field. Dogs are allowed in the camping area but only under the following conditions: dogs must be kept leashed and controlled at all times, dog owners are liable should any injury or damage occur, and you must clean up your dog’s poo.

Alcohol:

1. GLASS IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE MUSTER FIELD OR IN THE CAMPING AREA!!! Please plan accordingly. If your beverages are bottled in glass, please transfer them to a mug and dispose of the glass safely; broken glass is a big safety concern because children play on this field when we’re not camping here.

2. Drum Corps members (the camping wrist band is the identifier) ARE allowed to have alcohol on the field but we ask that you use discretion (cups with lids are recommended) Delivery Vehicles (Commercial vehicles or Corps members making deliveries) cannot enter or exit the Muster Field after 5:00 p.m. on Friday or after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The gate will be closed to vehicles at all other times, please make arrangements accordingly.

Sutler/Flea Market Vendor Information:

1. Corps and individual selling merchandise on the field are subject to a Vendor Fee.

2. Flea Market/Suttler vehicles cannot enter the Muster Field after 5:00 p.m. on Friday or after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The vehicle must remain in place on the Muster Field until after 6:00 a.m. on Sunday. This is for safety reasons and will be strictly enforced; failure to cooperate/comply will result in denial of entry onto the Muster Field next year. We take safety very seriously and are taking this strong stand due to an accident that occurred in recent years.

3. The DRAM Committee is required by law, to have a copy of the seller’s Tax Certificate in their possession at all times. Please bring a copy that we can keep.

Parking:

1. Parking on the “upper lot” is for BUSES ONLY on Saturday morning starting at 6:00 a.m.

2. Parking is not allowed in the camping area for safety reasons. You will have 10 minutes to remove your vehicle. There is parking available at the end of the road next to the camping area. The Deep River Historical Society offers a discounted parking fee to drum corps members. 

Temporary parking is allowed in the camping area for unloading and loading purposes only.

3. Vehicles parked in or obstructing the “Fire Lanes” at any time will be towed at the owner’s expense. Fire lanes are marked by white lines.

4. Please do not block fire lanes or access for port-a-potties service vehicles.
