Deep River Ancient Muster
Due to the current situation with Covid 19, restrictions are in place at local and state levels and they are changing and evolving rapidly. Across the State of Connecticut many precautions have been taking place regarding the health crisis around COVID 19. Under that purview, the Deep River Ancient Muster Committee, along with local Deep River area officials and state officials have made the determination to forego the muster for 2020.
While the committee worked diligently with these officials to host the event, the timing of our event aligns into Phase three of the state re-opening. Even during this phase our event is much too large of a gathering to meet these restrictions. We also need to be cognizant of the resources our event draws upon the local community. These limited resources need to be focused on supporting their own community members.
We understand the impact to our own fife and drum community and how this event is one we all look forward to. For now, we must take care of our mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters, and neighbors alike through this tumultuous time.
The muster committee has already begun the planning of the 2021 muster. So, take this time to get some extra rehearsing in, figure out that pesky measure, working on the sticking, clean those uniforms, and polish those shoes! We will see each other soon enough.
If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Joe Campbell or Scott Redfield directly.
